Come join us in helping to celebrate the Forest Theater’s 70th anniversary with a classic film noir from 1947. See Robert Mitchum and Jane Greer in “Out of the Past.” This also stars Kirk Douglas, Rhonda Fleming, and Richard Webb.

The Forest Theater is located in the Watrous Building, owned originally by Mr. & Mrs Don Watrous. The architect was J.W. DeYoung and the contractor was Mr.Robert Mauger. The Watrous building was built in 1940. Construction of the Forest Theater was completed in 1946. The theater opened on July 17, 1947, playing films including Homestretch and Crossfire .

The building is one of the few examples of The Art Deco style in Forest Grove.

We will celebrate the Forest Theater’s anniversary on July 14th, 2017, with a screening of the film Out of the Past. Doors are at 6 p.m. and the film begins at 7.

Dress up in 1947 style clothes if you desire.

We are searching for 3 cars from 1940-1947 to park outside the theater during event.
